CUSW Welcomes New Canadians at Skills For Change in Brampton

In February, CUSW members presented CUSW to a group of new Canadian electricians graduating from Humber College’s bridging program. The program,  sponsored by Skills for Change and the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, helps new Canadians get certified with their (309A) and (442) Certificates of Qualification.

CUSW has a long-standing partnership with Skills for Change, with many tradespeople eventually becoming CUSW Members.

Skills for Change is an organization that mentors and helps new Canadians find meaningful employment based on skills and experience from their home countries.

VIDEO: The CUSW Constitution and How Convention is at the Center of it.

Did you know CUSW is governed by the Principles, Articles and Policies found in the Constitution? And Did you know that 2015 is a Convention Year?

That's right. Early next year, member Delegates will come together at the Convention and vote on some of the smallest and the largest issues affecting the Union – and ultimately form the basis of the 2015 Constitution.

In anticipation of this event, we've prepared a short and informative 5 minute video that details the history and relationship between the Convention, that comes every 3 years, and the Constitution.

Your CUSW Constitution and Convention go hand in hand. Here's how.
