An update from the National Executive Board
We are now in a critical period in our efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. Although this is a time that is traditionally spent travelling and gathering with friends and family, we must approach this holiday differently and do our part to support the battle to slow the spread of COVID-19. It is crucial that we follow the provincial State of Emergency declaration and guidelines of Public Health Authorities, and stay home. Instead connect with family and friends by phone or virtually by Skype, FaceTime or Zoom. Please be responsible and do your part on containing the spread, staying safe and staying healthy.
The Canadian Union of Skilled Workers are actively monitoring the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) event and the policies that our governments are introducing. Our Stakeholders and Partners have been very supportive with communications and are remaining focused on the safety of the members in workplaces that are currently operating.
We, the National Executive Board are meeting regularly and have taken the necessary actions to ensure the efficient operation of CUSW over the coming months and that we will be ready to answer the call when our partners start engaging in work activities when the time is right.
The office staff are currently adhering to the recommendations of the Public Health Authority and are working remotely to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We must all be mindful of the recommendations and follow them accordingly.

Security Clearance update from OPG
Please note that email notifications will no longer be sent to members not currently working at OPG. Members currently working will continue to have notifications sent to their OPG contact as per usual.
A general reminder to members that an up-to-date security clearance certificate is a requirement for working at a nuclear plant in Ontario. Members are responsible for keeping their security clearance certificate up to date. If your certificate is expired or will be expiring soon, please take this time to download the Bruce Power security clearance kit and/or contact firstname.lastname@example.org for your OPG User ID needed for the OPG application process.
