It's okay, be 'disruptive'!

Are you looking to make a difference but don't know where to start?

As we approach 'round two' of the Election and Appointment Process, we want all of the Members to be fully aware of what is involved in the selection of the National Board.

So what exactly is it that a Board Member does?

The National Board is set up to not only manage today, but to also focus on the future - to be able to look at the big picture. National Board Members take on the task of building the organization that responds to the needs of the Members and other stakeholders, an organization that promotes collective interests of all partner. This may mean 'disrupting' the status quo.

That all sounds great, but I don't think I am ready to be the President or even the Vice President. That sounds like a lot of pressure!

And that is okay, you don't have to be! The National Board consists of more than just the President and Vice President(s). There are also 3 National Executive Board Members, a Treasurer, and also a Recorder. Each of which has an equal say before proceeding with any implementation of an idea or direction.

Think about what kind of future you want to be a part of and how YOUR Union fits into that. Thinking outside of the box is encouraged, so don't be shy, speak up
