Welcome to the Negotiating Committee Site

Our Mandate: Provide new and existing bargaining units with the tools and assistance they need to successfully negotiate collective agreements on behalf of its Members and their families.

As a CUSW Member, you play an important role in the negotiating process as it is the Members who are the decision makers.

Negotiating Skills Training - Call for Participation!

Would you like to build on your negotiating skills? The National Negotiating Support Committee is making a call for participation to join the four-part (online) training series—facilitating Members' continued education in skilled negotiation.

(NOTE: Registration is now closed.)

What can you expect?

The three-hour sessions are geared to Members who are interested in participating on a Bargaining Team (or who have already stepped up to do so). However, all Members are welcome and encouraged to join the training.

Topics covered over the four training sessions include Negotiating a Collective Agreement, Your Negotiation Style, Your Communication Style, Managing Conflicting Interests and Understanding Power in Negotiations.

Experienced CUSW Members like Steven Gilroy and Joe Mulhall, along with Members of the National Negotiating Support Committee, will lead these sessions.

The live, online sessions will be held from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM on the following dates:

  • Saturday, April 17, 2021

  • Saturday, May 1, 2021

  • Saturday, May 15, 2021
